AIMCAT 2 Analysis
I just learnt that i gave AIMCAT 2 not AIMCAT 1.
AIMCAT 1 was conducted during the previous week.
Cut 0ffs:
DI: 30
VA 31
Q.A: 26
TOTAL: 113 for at least 1 IIM call, 126 for 4 IIM calls.
My scores
DI: 31
VA: 32
Q.A:28
TOTAL: 91
Analysis :
though i managed to beat all cutoffs the total wasn't enough.
Main problem is SPEED. AIMCATs/MOCKCATs must be given enough respect in the sence u cant just stroll through the paper as if u have all the time in the world. Point NOTED.
Monday i went to TIME office and joined their AIMCAT basic series.Next AIMCAT is ONLINE. Because of login problems I was asked to book the slot for next AIMCAT after this Wednesday.Am eagerly looking forward to it.
I am taking sectional tests during alternate days. Am going through Barrons and IMS wordlist as fast as I could though there is no need to haste as am going to re-schedule GRE date certainly...

The Mock CAT season takes off...
Today i have given my first mock CAT. In fact its my second. First mock was more like an outing with friends. But that was almost an year before.
TIME conducted this mock.
My scores:
DI: 31
VA: 32
Quant: 28
Total: 91
well cut off is guessed to be around 105 to 115..
First i thought it was a good score considering this was my first mock and score looked more than my pals. When I read forums like pagalguy, new web of thoughts dawned upon me ranging from individual cutoffs to VA being the most easy of all..
Its not that am unaware of the individual cutoffs..
I just became a bit complacent with my performance that i entirely forgot about them.

Should work more on timing as i catered time to different sections in no particular order.
But still i feel its good start.[:)]

Hi all!
Many people I have asked for help suggested me to start preparation with 6 months to go. They were serious in adding that starting way before wanes the curiosity. In reality I took a different kind of cue from them. When ever i thought of deriously about CAT, I used to check the time span to CAT and postpone the preparation because it too way before 6 months. Now that news is confirmed that CAT goes online this year, exam date is in question. Previously it used to be on 2nd sunday of November.
I intend to use this blog as a channel to post my journey. But why? because i would certainly dont want to miss the nostaglic feeling when i look past in my life.
Coming to the terms of this blog, i can guarentee that all posts here will be related to CAT in one way or other.
But if you feel some of the posts are off limits, I cant help it beacause thats the way I am.
